Dr. Cindy Grimm graduated from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. She spent a year in a busy ER in Chicago but always wanted to be near the mountains. She moved to Colorado in 1997 and has been practicing ER medicine since at the Northside and Boulder ER's. Dr. Grimm has owned the clinics in 2010, with her goal is to hire exceptional doctors and certified techs that love the ER and have compassion toward animals...
She is an avid reader, loves to travel to sunny, beautiful beaches, and finds happiness in the mountains. She has the cutest dog in the whole world, Mitzy, and a feisty cat that is always getting into trouble, Buster.
Dr. Cristie Hunter first received her Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Duke University. She then decided to change career paths to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Hunter then attended the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 2002. Following an internship at the University of Minnesota, she began my career in emergency medicine. After moving to Colorado in 2004, she joined the Emergency Pet Clinic team in 2005. When not working, she enjoys spending time with my husband Jason, 4 dogs (Buddy, Juno, Roxy, and Foo), and 2 cats (Ed and Chewy) and taking advantage of living in Colorado by hiking, camping, mountain biking, and snowboarding...
Dr. Kristy Amer graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Following graduation, Dr. Amer completed an internship and residency program at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY. She switched her focus to small animals in 2007 and shortly thereafter moved to Colorado. Dr. Amer enjoys the fast pace and cases diversity of emergency medicine. When not working she takes advantage of Colorado's wonderful outdoors. Dr. Amer enjoys road and mountain biking, running, hiking, and snowboarding. She includes her beautiful yellow lab Mya in as many of these activities as possible.
Dr. Yvette Berndt is a native Texan, born and raised in El Paso. She graduated from high school in 1987, after which she started attending New Mexico State University and obtained her Bachelor's in Animal Science. She then pursued her Master's Degree in reproductive toxicology and graduated from NMSU in 1995. Dr. Berndt was accepted into the Professional Veterinary Medical Program at Colorado State University and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine since 1999. Dr. Berndt enjoys a home in the Loveland community, sharing her home with her wonderful son Mikal, dogs Ollie and Tygus, and their two cats Sage and Neko. Dr. Berndt also does foster care for infants and toddlers in the hopes of giving a less fortunate child a good start and maybe a forever home.
Dr. Lisa Carroll completed her Bachelor's degree in biology in 1990 and her DVM from Kansas State University in 1994. She joined a mixed animal practice in Las Cruces, New Mexico where she worked for four years treating small, large, and exotic animals. She then moved in 1998 to the Boulder area where she has practiced exclusively small animal emergency medicine. As past president of the local area veterinary association, she has developed strong ties with many other members of the veterinary community.
Dr. Carroll lives in Longmont with her husband, their three daughters, one dog, three cats, two guinea pigs, three goldfish, and one turtle. In her free time she enjoys hiking, gardening, martial arts, and mentoring youth activities.
Dr. Kyle Marano graduated from the University Of Florida College Of Veterinary Medicine after bachelors in animal science from The Ohio State University. Born and raised in Connecticut, Dr. Marano has traveled the country in his education and training, finishing with an internship at a specialty and emergency practice in the San Francisco Bay area. He enjoys soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, and the excitement and challenge that emergency medicine brings. He and his wife are parents to two beautiful children and moved to Colorado to enjoy the great outdoor activities and hiking 14ers. They also have a very lazy and perpetually hungry cat named Jack.
