Northside Emergency Pet Clinic is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a responsible individual with a positive attitude, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for animals. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, has the ability to multi-task, and is willing to learn. We are a well-equipped, busy practice that cares about our patients and employees. Applicants must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Daily treatments and nursing care of all hospitalized patients including elective procedures, critical care, and isolation.
Prepares drugs, fluids, and CRIs for daily treatment.
PO, IM, SQ medication administration.
Venipuncture including blood draw, IV medication administration, and IV catheter placement.
Ability to run bloodwork and recognize abnormalities.
Surgical prep, anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgical assisting.
Appropriately stock areas with drugs and supplies as needed. Maintains an accurate controlled drug log.
Accurately maintain medical record; complete paper forms as needed.
Assists veterinarians with euthanasia as needed
Client communication as needed
Maintains current veterinary technician certification/license/registration if applicable.
Proven experience as veterinary technician in a small animal practice or even better in an ER/Specialty practice
Experience working with diagnostic equipment preferred
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
